ALEXANDRIA, Va. (DC News Now) — A disturbing discovery inside a popular Alexandria bakery has led to criminal charges against one of its employees.
Police said a mother and her three-year-old daughter found a cellphone camera hidden inside the bathroom vanity at Gustave Boulangerie on Sept. 20.
“That’s horrible,” said customer Jacob Camacho-Nichols. “It’s terrible that that would even be happening. Why would someone want to do that?”
Investigators identified the phone as belonging to 20-year-old Joshua Hombrebueno, an employee at the bakery. Police said Hombrebueno later turned himself in.
Detectives executed a search warrant on his phone and said they found multiple recordings of victims, including adults and children, who were unknowingly filmed while using the restroom.

A customer who identified herself only as Linda said she used the bathroom on Sept. 17 and is concerned she may be among those recorded.
“He probably needs help, but he also needs to do a lot of time,” said Linda.
Police said several victims have been identified and have expressed a desire to press charges.
In a statement, Gustave Boulangerie said in part, “We have immediately strengthened their hiring process and implemented new internal policies to ensure everyone’s safety, dignity, and privacy are fully respected.”
