FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (7News) — A child in Fairfax County was rescued from the window of an apartment building on Friday, according to officials.

The Fairfax County Police Department said their officers responded to the 3000 block of South Manchester Street Friday afternoon for "a report of a child observed partially outside of an apartment window."

FCPD said the Real Time Crime Center used a drone to help officers find the apartment, get inside, and safely pull the child back in.

FCPD said the child was not injured, and three children were found inside the apartment without any adult supervision when police arrived.

"Detectives from our Child Abuse Unit responded to the scene and are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident," FCPD said.
