Does Louisiana Have Some of the Worst Drivers? — New Study Says No

One thing we always here about Shreveport is that it is really easy to get around.

That is a great selling point for our city that we never really hear about. I know during my travels around the state that our traffic patterns are way better than what you will find in Baton Rouge or New Orleans. You will find traffic nightmares in those cities on a regular basis.

The latest Forbes report lists the worst drivers in the country. Louisiana does not have a city in the top 10 which is great news.

You will find the worst drivers in the country in these cities:

Albuquerque, New Mexico topped this list a year ago, but has made significant improvements.

I was surprised Houston was not in the top 10 for worst drivers. Last year, 2 Texas cities did make the top 10 list. Dallas comes was #6 on the list a year ago while Fort Worth came in at 9th. Fort Worth actually has the fifth highest number of fatal car accidents involving a drunk driver (4.7 per 100,000 city residents). But both of those cities fall off the list for 2025.
