Educational professionals celebrate excellence

MAYVILLE – The Chautauqua County Association of Educational Office Professionals (CCAEOP) recently gathered at the Lake Chautauqua VFW to celebrate its 74th Annual Meeting and Recognition Dinner. The evening served as a vibrant tribute to educational excellence, community spirit, and the professional dedication that keeps local schools running smoothly.

The meeting was officially opened by Ashley Means, CEOE, who serves as the CCAEOP President. Addressing an audience of 60 guests, Means expressed her deep gratitude for the continued support of the organization and the community. Jason Delcamp, Superintendent of the Brocton Central School District, served as the guest speaker for the evening, offering inspiring remarks on the vital role educational office professionals play in the success of the school districts.

Education and student success remained at the heart of the program. Elizabeth Link, CCAEOP Vice President, took the stage to present this year’s prestigious scholarship awards to two deserving local students. The Academic Scholarship was awarded to Adelie Jackson from the Clymer Central School District, while the Inspirational Scholarship was presented to Luke Kirschman from Jamestown High School.

The focus shifted from student achievements to professional excellence as the association presented its two highest honors of the year. Means, CEOE, announced Tammy Mangus, Superintendent of Cassadaga Valley Central School, as the 2026 Chautauqua County Administrator of the Year. Additionally, Laurie Rubner from the Sherman Central School District was honored as the Office Professional of the Year for her outstanding contributions to her district.

The event featured several fundraising efforts to ensure the longevity of these awards, including a 50/50 raffle, a door prize, and a Chinese auction. Local Chautauqua County businesses showed their immense generosity by donating various gift cards and gift baskets for the auction. A free NAEOP membership was also awarded during the program. All proceeds from these activities go directly into the CCAEOP Scholarship Fund to support the academic dreams of future students.

As the 74th meeting concludes, the organization is already looking toward a historic milestone. Next year, CCAEOP will celebrate its 75th Diamond Anniversary. This landmark event will be even more significant as CCAEOP hosts the Northeast Area of the National Association of Educational Office Professionals (NAEOP). This regional conference will bring together educational professionals from across the Northeast–including Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and the District of Columbia–to our local community.

As a proud affiliate of NAEOP, the CCAEOP remains passionate about helping students thrive and succeed. The organization is dedicated to supporting student growth and well-being, firmly believing that by making a positive impact on their lives today, they can create a better future for the entire community. The CCAEOP extends a heartfelt thank you to all who attended and supported this year’s Recognition Dinner.
