WASHINGTON (7News) — Election Day around the DMV this year will be about as good as it gets for early November.
Skies will be mostly sunny, and temperatures will be a little warm, with highs in the 70s.
In the last 20 years, the warmest Election Day was in 2024 when temperatures reached 78 degrees, while the coldest was in 2012 when the high was only 48 degrees.
The wettest Election Day occurred in 2018 when just over 3/4 of an inch of rain fell.
November is a transition season, and while weather conditions are mostly calm around the DMV, there have been a slew of major weather events on past Election Days across the United States.
From major Rocky Mountain snows in 2024 to tornado outbreaks in the south in 2018.
Even Superstorm Sandy occurred in the days leading up to the 2012 presidential election.
