Indian Ambassador Vinay Kwatra shares exclusive Diwali wishes with IANS, celebrating with diaspora across Washington events including White House ceremony.
Indian Ambassador to the US, Vinay Kwatra, spoke exclusively to IANS, extending Diwali wishes to Indian citizens and members of the diaspora community.
He made the remarks on Saturday during a special Diwali celebration hosted at his residence for members of the Indian diaspora in Washington, DC.
"It gives me great pleasure, on my behalf and on my Embassy's behalf, to wish everybody a very, very warm, healthy, prosperous Diwali. At the onset of festive season, it's a great time of the year and should bring the best of blessings, health, prosperity to you and your family members and your loved ones," he told IANS.
Earlier, Ambassador Kwatra addressed the diaspora members and praised the community's positive role in strengthening the India-US relationship.
On Friday, the Indian Ambassador took part in Diwali celebrations organised by the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum, a think tank.
Ricky Gill, the Special Assistant to US President Donald Trump and the White House National Security Council Senior Director for South and Central Asia, also attended the event.
"Delighted to join the Diwali Reception hosted by @USIPForum to celebrate the festive seasons with friends of India from different sectors, including the US Government, Business, Think-Tanks and media," Ambassador Kwatra posted on X.
Gill, during his speech at the event, vowed to strengthen the India-US strategic partnership.
"I think it's worth saying this on behalf of the Trump administration that ultimately the US-India Strategic Partnership is not only bonafide, real and credible, but when the story of this administration is done, you will actually see a strengthened US-India partnership that we will all be remarkably proud of. So, I believe we'll continue to soar to new heights in technology, defence and energy, trade and others. I'm happy to do my part,” he added.
