Law Roach Teases Possible Career Pivot

Law Roach revealed he’d be open to taking a step back from styling Hollywood’s biggest stars for a potential career pivot: "If I’m terrible at it, at least I tried."

Law Roach may be dressing to impress on the big screen soon.

After all, the fashion stylist—known to dress stars such as Zendaya and Kim Kardashian during the awards circuit—revealed he’s not opposed to stepping out on the Academy Awards red carpet himself one day. Indeed, the image architect shared that he’s interested in pursuing acting in the future.

“Oh absolutely.” He told Variety at the InStyle Imagemaker Awards Oct. 16 of whether he’d try on acting for size. “I want to try everything. If I’m terrible at it, at least I tried.”

The Project Runway judge—who has appeared on screen while playing himself in The Devil Wears Prada 2 and the Netflix sitcom Running Point—noted that he’s “done some walk on roles” and “some cameos,” but shared that he would be open to a project “when a director sees something for me.”

But the 48-year-old hasn’t started practicing the craft just yet. After all, he shared he doesn't “have time for that” these days.

And while the America’s Next Top Model judge has a roster of successful actresses among his clients, including Angela Bassett and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who he could surely ask for advice, don’t expect him to be turning to the Grammy-winning singers he’s styled, such as Celine Dion and Ariana Grande when it comes to his career pivot.

Indeed, Roach emphasized that he doesn’t have any sights set on pursuing music.

“I have worked with some of the greatest actors of all time,” he noted. “I’ve also worked with some of the greatest singers of all time, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to try to sing.”

And though Roach suggested he’s waiting for the right role to come along to officially dip his toes into acting, there has, in fact, been a filmmaker who has expressed interest in directing a project with the RuPaul’s Drag Race judge.
