Lidl recalls cookies with ingredients not written in English over 4 undeclared allergens

Shortbread cookies sold in packages that did not list their ingredients in English were recalled because they did not identify four different allergens.

The recall covers all Eridanous Shortbread Cookies with Chocolate Truffle Coating & Apricot Filling that were sold in 11.6 oz. packages and had the UPC 4056489125839, the grocery chain Lidl US announced.

The cookies were sold from July 15 to July 22 in all Lidl stores along the East Coast, the company’s notice explained. The affected states identified were Delaware, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Virginia, as well as the District of Columbia.

According to the statement, the cookies came in boxes that did not have the ingredients, nutrition facts, or allergen information listed in English. The packaging did not show that the cookies contained wheat, soy, milk, and eggs.

Customers sensitive to those ingredients are urged not to eat the cookies and throw away the packages. They can also be returned to Lidl stores for a full refund.
