BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A multi-statewide agency search led to the finding of a missing East Baton Rouge Parish teenager in the basement of a Pennsylvania home.
At least two people are facing charges in connection with her disappearance.
Ki-Shawn Crumity, 26, was arrested on multiple charges, including trafficking in individuals, statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault, and selling or furnishing alcohol.
Ronald Smith, 62, of New Orleans, was arrested in Columbus, Ga., for simple kidnapping and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
The teen girl was first reported missing by law enforcement in October.
Officials received information from the State of Louisiana’s Attorney General’s Office Cyber Crime Unit, revealing the missing teen may have had online contact with an unknown adult male.
According to arrest reports, Crumity and the teen girl met on Snapchat. Crumity reportedly told the teen he would get her adopted by a trusted adult.
Investigators determined that the teen had travelled on a bus from Columbus, Georgia, to Pennsylvania. At the time of her disappearance, she had been seen at the Greyhound bus station in Baton Rouge.
While she was at the Greyhound station in Washington, D.C., she met a woman who reportedly asked if she needed help. From there, the pair traveled with Crumity to Pennsylvania.
Multiple agencies reportedly traced the teen’s online activity, which led authorities to Pennsylvania and the man she had been in contact with on Snapchat.
