Arlington, VA — Alarmed by numerous serious incidents involving contract truck drivers in the past five years, the Mine Safety and Health Administration has issued a safety alert.
MSHA reports that 129 truck-related incidents involving contractors have occurred since 2020, resulting in five deaths and 99 lost-time injuries.
The agency calls on contract truck drivers to maintain control when operating mobile equipment and never exceed a vehicle’s design capabilities, operating ranges, load limits and safety features.
