ALEXANDRIA, Va. (7News) — Alexandria Police made an arrest in connection with a fatal apartment shooting that happened in the city on Saturday night.Detectives from the Alexandria Police Department have charged Damontie James, 26, with second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

The incident occurred at 3450 Berkeley St., where James is alleged to have shot and killed 29-year-old Kory Anding during a domestic dispute involving James' sister.

Police officers responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 10:56 p.m. Upon arrival, they found Anding deceased in the apartment.

James remained at the scene and was immediately detained by authorities. The investigation into the homicide is ongoing.
