The state transportation department paid for $18 million of the project. It's a part of the state's $230 million competitive grant funding for airport improvements around the state.
Ogdensburg currently offers flights to Washington, DC, Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, and Orlando, Florida on Breeze Airways. Breeze is getting $18 million in federal air service subsidies to provide the service through 2026.
According to WWNY-TV, the airport has hired an events coordinator for its Great Room. The airport says it could be used for weddings, trade shows, arts and crafts festivals, or other events.
