WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- D.C. police are investigating a shooting that occurred in Southeast overnight.

Details are limited; however, the shooting broke out near the 2600 block of Birney Place SE.

DC News Now contributor Larry Calhoun captured video that showed officers cordoning off Birney Place SE with crime scene tape as investigators worked to learn what led up to the shooting. At one point, police officers could be seen running down the street.

It is unclear how many people were hurt and if a suspect is in custody.
