Ruth Sheets serving as supply pastor. A native of Norristown, Rev. Sheets is a retired teacher and pastor. She is a member of the vocal group Historical Harmonies and sings with her sisters in churches where she serves as supply pastor. On Sunday, Dianne Sheets will join her in singing “God’s Counting on Me, God’s Counting on You.” BIRDSBORO — St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 5 Brooke Lane, will hold its annual Trunk or Treat and Pet Blessing on Saturday, October 25. The event will be from 4-6 pm. Rain or Shine. You are invited to bring properly restrained pets, in or out of costume, for a pet blessing. POTTSTOWN — St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 927 N. ZIEGLERVILLE — St. Luke’s Lutheran Church Obelisk is offering a free Community Health Fair on Friday, Oct. 24, from 9 AM to 1 PM. This event has been put together to allow our neighbors to receive high-quality information and services in one place at no cost to them. During the Health Fair, you will be able to receive your flu vaccine through Skippack Pharmacy, get information on Breast cancer screenings from Tower Health. Healthcare professionals will be available to conduct screenings for: Lung Function, Blood Sugar, Blood Pressure, and peripheral vascular disease. You will be able to hear information from medical professionals on preventing falls and nutrition. We have also arranged for agencies such as Meals on Wheels, the Office of Aging, Thrivent Financial, Bankers Life Insurance, Sen. Pennychuick’s office and the Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy to share how they can best serve our community. Join us and take advantage of this unique opportunity. Hanover St., will hold worship in our sanctuary on October 26 at 10:15 am. The focus of the message will be on how we can lift others up and help each other to live our very best lives. Trinity UCC hosts multiple weekly support groups: Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 7:30 pm every Monday, Taking Back our Power (mental health support) meets at 1:00 pm every Thursday, and Breath of Hope (Narcotics Anonymous) meets at 7:30 pm every Friday. We partner with Creative Kiddie Care to provide before and after-school care for elementary-aged children and are accepting enrollees. We continue to offer a community meal for anyone in need at 5 pm every Tuesday.
