ARLINGTON, Va. (7News) — Thousands of Dominion Energy customers in Arlington County were without power Monday evening, but the lights are in the process of coming back on.

7News reached out to Dominion Energy about the outage, and we were told that a switch failed, causing the outage. Crews are currently working to isolate the switch.

Dominion said the peak of customer outages was 4205 customers, but by 7:35 that number had already gone down to 1324.

Dominion said the power is expected to be fully restored by 9 p.m.
