Rubio Will Visit Jamnagar – No Details On Why

WASHINGTON, DC-US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will visit Mumbai and Jamnagar from October 17 to 22 as part of a trip that will also take him to Samarkand, Uzbekistan, with energy cooperation expected to feature prominently in his India discussions, the US State Department said.

During his second official visit to India this year, Rubio will meet senior Indian government officials to strengthen the US-India strategic partnership, exchange views on regional and global developments, and discuss prospects for enhanced energy cooperation. He will also meet business leaders to promote commercial investment and economic cooperation.

Jamnagar, Gujarat, is home to Reliance Industries’ refining hub, one of the world’s largest refining complexes. The State Department did not specify why the city was included in Rubio’s itinerary.

The visit comes as an October 18 deadline approaches under the Graham Act for duties targeting countries that buy Russian energy. India has been among the largest buyers of Russian crude since 2022, and its oil purchases have been a recurring source of friction between New Delhi and Washington. (IANS)

How lucky Marco is able to visit India multi-times. For an Indian like me, it is unthinkable. Then we have Indian government, be it Modi or Papu, who are so eager to welcome politicians. Look at UpTube reception of the Islamic shia Aga Khan whom Modi invited and doles out red carpet welcome when he, Aga Khan is not even head of any state. To add insult to injury, the Aga Khan Grand father supported rights of Muslims in pre-partition India and supported partition. Despite this, the current Aga Khan’s father was given a Bharat Ratna by the then Congress Party. So sometime we wonder why we support these useless leaders who seems to care more about others than Indians who lost their lives for independence.

Indian politics is beyond common people to understand. BJP has shrewd politicians who developed India in short time. The Congress party failed to develop the country.
