The 2026 midterm campaign's most viral moments

The lead-up to the 2026 midterm election on November 3 has not been short of viral moments from across the aisle. Here are a few of the most memorable ones so far:

Georgia Sen. Jon Ossoff sparked fury and a slew of responses with one sentence during an August campaign rally in which he said of President Donald Trump, "he wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie."

The Natalie in question refered to top Trump aide Natalie Harp, who was reportedly nicknamed the "human printer."

Jaime West, a Democrat running for Fayette County Council in Indiana, went viral for her demeanor and answers during a local news interview that you have to watch.

She later went on 'Piers Morgan Uncensored' and admitted she may have had one ... or more drinks beforehand.

The Democratic candidate for Senate in Michigan, Abdul El-Sayed, faced off with a former Republican aide at a town hall, and his answer had the internet buzzing.

The aide, who identified himself as "Tommy," asked El-Sayed if he would disavow the Muslim Brotherhood. After answering "sure, yeah, absolutely," El-Sayed went on to address Tommy directly about the question itself in a more than 4-minute response, invoking John F. Kennedy and the Constitution.

Trump's promise of giving $5,000 checks to every adult citizen in America only if Republicans retain Congress after the midterms took the country by storm, with many people, even supporters, doubting they would actually receive one.

As Texas Senate candidate James Talarico had an extended absence from the campaign trail due to a bout of the flu, conspiracies took hold online that he actually was at an Ohio mental health facility.

His campaign and the facility shot down the claims, and the New York Times reviewed time-stamped images that showed him at his home during the absence.
