RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - The Virginia Department of Health is reporting a confirmed case of measles in the state’s northern region.
VDH says the person infected is preschool-age (between 0 to 4 years) who recently traveled internationally.
Health officials are coordinating an effort to identify people who might have been exposed.
VDH also says this is not related to a case confirmed on Jan. 11 also in Northern Virginia.

In 2026, Virginia has reported three cases of measles.
Any additional exposure sites identified in Virginia will be posted to the VDH Measles website.
