WASHINGTON - The rescheduled White House Correspondents’ Association dinner is set for Friday, July 24 after the original event was cut short in April when a gunman opened fire in what prosecutors say was an attempt to assassinate President Donald Trump.

Trump is expected to attend the gathering, which the association’s president says will be smaller and held under significantly enhanced safety protocols, including new access procedures for guests.

The Metropolitan Police Department has released a list of street closures and parking restrictions that will be in effect during the event, advising drivers to plan for delays and limited access near the venue.
